Greetings from the back porch!  It's so nice to have today off of work, and I enjoyed my morning fussing around the back porch with my plants.  I bought a can of red spray paint.  Can you tell???  LOL!  I sure like the new life it gave this old flower pot.  Looks right at home, don't you think?

My "Meditation Shawl" has been totally frogged and started over.  I totally calculated wrong, and it came out insanely too long!  So, I did it, reluctantly, but yes, ripped it completely out and started over.  Pictures will be coming soon of my progress!

I would like to share some pictures of my shirret rugs, which I have been meaning to post and finally getting around to it.  Pretty?
Don't you just love em?
I'm hoping for a very productive and creative week...off work all week long!  Yay!!!  I so need it.  I am spending it at home, which I truly love, and looking forward to the down time and having no schedule!!  Hoping to get some knitting done and odd projects that have sat on the back burner!  Maybe even a daily blog posting!

Tah-tah!

Did I mention I love this blanket?

Okay...I have to say I think I am in love! LOL. While scoping out my favorite crochet groups on flickr I came across this beauty. It makes me want to immediately pick up my crochet hook and start grannying!

I just had to share it with all by bloggy buds!

Warm Fuzzies and Eye Candy!

Good Morning bloggies!  Things are happy and creative here on this Sunday morning.  I am starting off giving you a little picture of my afghans, which look so beautiful stacked neatly on one another.  It gives me the urge to pick that crochet hook...but first...I must finish up this little project....
This it the beginning of the "Meditation Shawl" found in the Yoga Journal.  The request came to me from a gal that does some awesome tie dye!  She asked for these colors, I did my best in searching and found this yarn at Hobby Lobby.  It is actually two colors of variegated stripes by I Love This Yarn.

I have a pair of jeans she has tied dyed...and love em!
Now how groovy are these?
I am really enjoying this feather and fan pattern, and the scallops (which will be the bottom of the shawl).  I started this Friday night, so I can tell it is going to work up quickly and beautifully.
Just one more picture of my progress.  I will post more as I get more done!
I also just have to share a couple views of the covered porch.  All is well there, when you are here there are no problems to think about.  A cold drink, my knitting, and all these plants take away all the stress in life and leave me feeling happy and creative!
Come join me!  I have room for visitors, and a Bay Breeze will be waiting on you!

I just had to share this awesome estate sale find from last Saturday.  These mats, made of banana fiber and shells.  I was immediately drawn to them and had to bring them home with me!
For now they are sitting in my bay window in good sight, and I get to constantly look at them and touch them every chance I get.  Such eye candy...makes me happy.  I am not sure where they will settle, but for now they are in my view when I walk into the kitchen!

I could show you much more, but have to get busy.  On my way to mom's to visit and scan more old photos!  Then more knitting and possibly repotting a couple of plants.

It's a good day!

Groovy Maxi Vest

I'm so happy to say, finally got this little girlie done, listed, and off to its new home!  Between my not feeling all that hot, the dreary days (definitely not photo weather), and just being plain ole busy it has been a chore.  But it's done now, and I do love it!  The brown is so pretty, and I do like the length!

Next on my to do list is getting the yarn for a meditation shawl, and a granny baby blankie!  In the meantime I am occupying my fingers with a neat little scarf pattern I will share later on this week!

I hope everyone has a great end to the week!  Bloggy-bye!

More Dish Cloths

Hey Blogees!  I'm here, mid-week, and working on dish cloths like a wild woman!  I have since finished up another.  Lime Green.

Just popping in for a quick minute to see what all my bloggy friends are up to and to post a quick picture.  I am so looking forward to some "Saturday" fun!

A picture is worth 1000 words....

There is not easier way to tell all my bloggy friends what I have been up to, than with some pictures!  I have always been impartial to the "eye candy" in magazines and books...even with others blogs.  I go straight for the pictures, then go back and read.

Above:  made a trip to the farmer's market for some geraniums for the front porch!

My rooster watches over them.

I also picked up a bouquet of flowers for $10.  They look so pretty sitting atop my antique sewing machine cushioned by a doily made for me by my Grandma Esther.

I have spent most of the week knitting up these little wash clothes, some of which have already been snatched up by my mom!  LOL!  I love the colors!

I think baskets and knitting belong together!  This is a little fanny basket I wove years ago.  It has me longing to do another!  Maybe vacation time will allow me to make a basket!
See what I mean?  I even knit up a little basket weave clothe because I was so inspired!
It's a great cloth.  Perfect for a dish cloth.  Just knit 5, purl five pattern that you switch every five rows.

Also finished crocheting up this maxi vest for an etsy order.  I really like it, and love the length (which was her request)...I could easily wear this!

An impromptu visit to my local yarn shop Friday ~  I could have brought home more easily!
A buddy showed by at my door with this tray in her hand and a big smile on her face!  I LOVE IT!  Of course, it has roosters, and the black and white is awesome!  THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!

I must also admit that the new gimp program Brad loaded on my laptop has roped me in and I am addicted.  I have had so much fun playing with my photographs in it, and trying to learn the ins and outs.  This is my farmer's market after I "gimped" them!
Bye for now!
I hope to be back later this week with the beginnings of a new project!
