Resurfaced Babette
I am totally back into the Babette mode once again. This is the reason I do not like to stop a project for another, because it can take some time before I get back to it. In this case...it has been several months since I have picked up my Babette.
But just look at her beauty! And I cannot wait to get it done. At this point I am halfway through the third blue panel border, so I am very close. Then I must decide on what to do with the border. I believe I am going to completely use up all my blue yarn, so it will probably be in the brighter colors.
I like this big square! The blues just pull me in.
For now I will leave you with hopefully some crochet inspiration. I am actually contemplating my next Babette. This one actually started as a custom order, which fell through. So the yarn selection and colors were not truly what I would have picked out for myself.
I am leaving you with a sweet picture of Phoebe, looking completely comfortable lounging in one of my chairs on the covered porch. It's truly a dog's life!

Dawn, your Babette is coming along so beautifully! I just wanted you to know that it has been an inspiration to my daughter, and she is now looking forward to making her own. She loves how you change colors within a round to make your blocks looks a little 'off' and she's considering doing the same.
Congratulations to you for being so close to finishing! What an accomplishment that will be.
Phoebe looks so happy!

OMG your babette is fantastic!!
I love it Dawn!
Love the blanket! The colors are so bright and pretty. Can't wait to see it all finished. I am like you and hate to put a project down once I start. I made some potholders inspired by the ones you posted about and I love them. Thanks for sharing. I know I will make more in the future. They are very easy.
Have a great day!
I came over here from your kind comments on flickr, and I am very glad I did.
All your beautiful crochet (the best colour combinations!), your delightful home, great photography, but most of all that adorable dog! She's just adorable.
This is beautiful. What kind of yarn did you use?

I've been wondering
about something for a long
time but was too embarrassed to ask. But here goes.
On the Blue square that appears to be a 10 rounder,
are there only (4) 2 rounders
that go next to it? I've found that sometimes I have
to make an adjustment because some yarns are thicker than others and when I made a Babette this year I sort of had to fiddle around with it. Any tips there?
Thanks so much.
All your things are so lovely.
Cary, you are absolutely correct! I had to do the same way and work with some things to get them to fit. I suppose that is the beauty of crochet. Keep in mind that the blue band around the blanket is my own design I used to simply increase the size of the blanket...so I am sure there are some little oddities in there!
By the time you make your adjustments no one will be able to tell once you have finished!!
Good Luck! Would love to see your finished project!
