Gettin My Hook On!

I have always thought a picture is worth a thousand words...so I'll show you what I've been up to this week.  I have been hooking owls.  The idea came to me driving home from work one evening.  The rest is history.  This is little guy is what a week's worth of crocheting and working out ideas have resulted in.  And I think I am most pleased with the results.
This was the first one I worked up.  Cute, I know, but I thought he could be cuter.
All very cute.  I like the little short one.  But, still...not quite there.
Then this little guy, made from some chunky yarn in my scrap basket.
Getting there.  But not quite happy with his little horns.
Getting there...I added a little yellow in the eyes and made his horns a little more pointy.  LOL!
Definitely getting there.  I really liked this chunky yarn, too.
Awww...now that's it...some wings!  OK...my work here is done!  I will be bringing a pattern soon.  But right now I am trying to crank as many of these guys out for a craft sale coming in November.

Everyone have a great week and keep those creative juices flowing!

Very cute, I love Owls and I think when you hear them hooting, you are being sent a good message. What about a big Owl pot holder?

I'm sure glad your brain works like it does because mine would never come up with something like this from scratch. So cute!

What a lovely idea! I love owls, even though they simultaneously spook me. I think it's the 'Exorcist'-like revolving head that makes me nervous. These little guys are just gorgeous, though :-)

Did you ever post the pattern for these? I've seen you do other patterns, but this is the style I would like to try. Thanks!

Hoooooo wants this cute pattern? All of us little owl lovers that's Hoooooo! Please share?? My daughter is away at college and her mascot is a Prof. She will love to open up a care package from home and find these little guys on a coffee cozy. You are very talented.

What yarn did you use for the first owl shown with variegated yarn? Is it green plum and burgundy? I love this yarn!
