Some Serious Crochet Inspiration!

Okay...get ready...I have discoverered some crochet that absolutely makes me drool! While exploring one of the crochet groups on flickr I came across this lady, and let me tell you, I have really been impressed by her!

She goes by the name Elizabeth Cat. What she does with a hook and yarn is amazing. Her colors and patterns are serious eye candy to anyone who crochets. I love her work so much that I asked her permission to share it with my bloggy buddies, and was delighted when she told me she would be thrilled for me to include her in my blog!

Well here goes. I am just going to post a small sampling of her photos with no words...they speak for themselves!
Beautiful! (ok..maybe a couple of words!)
Holy Cow! This is gorgeous!
Granny Goodness!

I am in crochet heaven!

Luv-a-ly!
Purr-fection!
I know you guys have to agree with me on this. Everytime I log onto flickr I check her out just to see if she has added anything new. It's pure crochet inspiration to me. One of the things that I think make crochet almost an art form is that you can make it so unique, so your own, and her work has a definite vibe running through it that is truely something you could pick out amidst many crocheters. As a good knitting buddy of mine would say, "it's yarn porn"...LOL!
I have been busy learning the "magic loop" technique as I work on a pair of yoga socks. I will post some pictures soon. I am enjoying this technique and can see it used for so much more than socks!
For now I will leave you with all this hooky-goodness and hope you love it as much as I do!
Ta-Ta!

Trio of Pillows - Finished!

Just look at all this crochet hookiness! Grannies, spike stitch...I love how this little trio of pillows have turned out, and they are going to look great on my bed. They make me feel like I am in a warm cozy cabin, curled up next to the fire!
And this spike stitch has become one of my favorites! You all know, I am a granny square-aholic, well I could easily do the same with this!!

I had enough yarn to get the smaller granny pillow done. I just crocheted a large granny and folded in the corners. It really makes a neat design!

So, now here I am...what next...more crochet?? I do have a poncho I need to get started on. But I am having a hard time putting down my hook. LOL! I have also been working on getting my yarn organized, which just fuels my fire more to make some more grannies!

Well, I'm off. Going to see what these look like on the bed.

Pillow Talk

Finished it up this week. It reminds me of a sock monkey! My plan is to make about three crocheted pillows for the bed. Cozy things up a bit.

I must admit since the holidays I have been in a little bit of a creative stupor...finding it hard to get my mojo going. Working on these grannies has helped a little bit, but I'm still not quite there. So to shake things up a bit I decided to try something new.

Wanna see??

Okay!

It's called Spike Stitch. I saw this online and had printed it out long ago, put it in my notebook of things I wanna learn. This is sure fun to work on. Will make a great companion to my granny square pillow, don't you think?
But alas, just as I was getting back into the groove...I run out of yarn! Drats! So, in the meantime I will just post some pictures of this pretty little stitch.

Looks pretty with the beginnings of another granny square, which I started this morning ... my hands had to keep busy!

This stitch wouldn't work well for scarves and the like, it is so thick. I was thinking it would make an awesome bathroom rug. I don't think I pull my stitches as tight as the pattern showed. The pattern almost looked like waves. But no matter, I like the way it worked up.

I am off now for a cozy spot on the sofa with my Phoebe and a movie...love the lazy Sundays!
