Half Granny Shawl

Tah-dah!  Just finished it up.  I am loving it right now.  The yarn is actually from a Good Will scarf I bought for a couple bucks because I liked the yarn.  Took it home and frogged the scarf.  I had a pretty sock yarn at home I wanted to blend it with.

I am pretty pleased.  It is kind of fascinating how it changes color.  One moment it has a purple look, then a brown look.   My granny square/crocheting obsession is in full swing right now, and nothing could make me happier.  I think it is because I am wanting fall to get her so badly.  Right now the heat and humidity are brutal and I am inside crocheting scarves and shawls.  Sounds crazy!

I really like the border.  I used the border pattern from Doris Chan's, All Shawl.  It is a free ravelry download.  I am now wanting to give the entire pattern a try.  Looks fun and quick, and very pretty.

Here is a closeup snap on the border!

Here is a sneak peak to what I am up to now.  I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet.

Have a great week everyone!!

This is beautiful! Love the play of colors -- do you have a pattern for this? I have some yarn that would be perfect for this shawl. Thanks!

I love it! And, I'm amazed at how you found great yarn in a thrift shop scarf. Great job!

Funny...I'm doing the same thing...inside crocheting and knitting cowls and scarves and it's over 100' outside! It's fun though! :-D

I just found your blog this morning and immediately started following it. I love it! So colorful, happy, and full of great projects!

Great granny shawl! Love the purples. You will love the All-Shawl, and it is easy once you get going. I've made several. They are always so pretty. I've made her CocoBay shawl too, which is basically the same thing with some color changes. Nice to see you are hooking!

Love this so much! Summer here (in Michigan) is actually much cooler than usual, so working on a shawl (or an afghan - my current project) would not be out of order at all!
Do you have a pattern for this? It's quite beautiful!

Love what you did by frogging the old and adding the new to make a lovely scarf. Like everything about it. Very clever.

I just searched some knitting and crocheting blogs - and I found you. I am so happy :) I love your granny shawl - I never thought about granny squares this way. And the color... I love it!

Too bad I haven't found beautiful yarn from thrift shops. Maybe I just don't know how to look :)

Anyway, nice job. I'll be back :)
