Happy Hookah Goodness!

I am so pleased with my little Granny Square Baby Binky that I can't stand myself!  This one turned out just as I had it pictured in my head.  The red variegated yard is like icing on the cake, it makes the blanket.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words...let's talk!

The larger squares are nine round grannies.  Each is started by the navy blue, surrounded in about three rounds of warm yellows and a row of white.  I think the white and red really pop the whole thing up.

I have to admit, I likes me some variegate yarn!  In fact, I loves it!  It all goes together.

Doesn't it look right at home?  But, it won't hang around long.  I made this for a girl at work who has a baby boy on the way.  I cannot wait to give it to her!

So, now I'm thinking I need a binky for myself.  My porch seems to really need one!  So, it's on my list.  Along with a rug to finish up and a scarf that will be done this weekend!  Seems odd to knit scarves in 100 degree temperatures, but hey, that's what knitters do!

For now I'm on my way to catch up with all the other blogs I love to follow, then sit back with some yarn and enjoy the evening.

This is beautiful; I like the way you used the little squares as a border.

Amazing! I want to make one just like it for my friend who is expecting a boy...I love blankets that are not too babyish and will grow with the little one. Love you site...and I love your sweet doxie! Crochet and Dauchshunds...these are a few of my favorite things!

I LOVE this afghan and have decided I have to have one. I think I may have a few of the colors but am having a hard time deciding what variegated ones to use. Those I would probably have to buy. Would you be able to provide the variegated color names? Enjoying your blog as well. Off the browse some more!

I have tried to find match colors for the granny blanket with the blue border, but TLC has been discontinued. Can you be more specific on the type yarn and colors used for this wonderful blanket? I love it.

Gorgeous! I love all the different colours enclosed with the navy. Yes the red really makes it even more beautiful in my eyes, plus yhe green around the border. I'm inspired! What size hook did you use?
Job well done. I'd be so grateful to receive such a lovely gift. Bless!

I know you had posted somewhere what variegated yarns you used for this blanket but I can't find it. I know they are Red Heart TLC Essentials and are discontinued, but I'm trying to ask peoples help in what other current variegated yarns might be a good match. I was thinking one was called Sedona or something like that and one was sort of Ocean colors, third one I don't remember at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
